Meeting for Business

November 5, 2017

Present:  Mark, Buffy , Liseli , Barbara , Debbie, Ami , MaryEllen

The meeting opened with gathered silence. The minutes from last month’s meeting was read and approved.

Treasurer’s Report

The treasurer’s report was read and approved.

Questions were raised about the NYSEG bill being $40.00 where the past bills have been in the $20.00 range.  We will have Alex look into a printout of our NYSEG usage and history.

Buildings and Grounds

Two cords of wood for the meeting house have been ordered and should be here soon.  The smoke alarms for the building still need to be installed.

There will be a called meeting on Monday Nov. 6th at 7pm at the meeting house.  Deb said that this has been posted on the website, Facebook page, and by e-mail to the members.

Old Business

A topic still needs to be decided upon for the quarterly meeting that is to be here in January 2018.  Again the idea of the FCNL Advocacy team to give a presentation was brought up. However, it was brought up that over two of the meetings are actively involved in it.  A focus group was suggested to come up with topics.  Sanctuary committee is another topic, but that depends upon the outcome of the called meeting tomorrow night.

New Business

Ami said that she feels that she can no longer carry on the worship sharing meeting that is on the third Sunday of each month.  MaryEllen said that she is willing to take it over.

OPC – Outreach Practice Committee has monthly phone calls about how monthly meetings do outreach.  Buffy did one phone call and said that there were ten meetings on that call. Would there be anyone who can do the following phone dates: 11/27, 11/28, and 11/30 from 7 – 8:30pm.  Ami said that she was willing to do this.

Buffy brought up fuel bill payment plan options for our heating bill.  A few of the options were discussed.  It was decided that Buffy will look into the budget cap plan as the meeting approved to go with this plan.

There is a gym downstairs at the meeting house for members to use.

Next Year Budget Proposal

Right now we have not paid our 2017 covenant donation of $1,000.00.  This is due by the end of December.  It costs about $400.00 a month to run our meeting house.  A discussion was brought up about the meeting breaking down the large bills such as the heating and insurance into either monthly or quarterly payments.  An e-mail will be sent out at all the members regarding the budget and how much we spend each month.  The budget will be voted on at the next meeting.

The meeting ended with gathered silence.

Next Meeting for Business is December 3rd.
